The VHS im Kreis Herford in conjunction with Cornelsen are organising a Cornelsen English Day on 29 March 2014.

The programme

The programme for the day will have two sessions where you will be able to chose from two different sessions.

10:00   Welcome and Coffee
10:30 1. Easy English – Real Fun, Real Life, Real People, Real English World
This new series from Cornelsen is designed to give both students and teachers a strong support base. With flat progressions, lots of practice and limited new words per unit, Easy English is definitely “easy” to use. Packed with fun activities, “easy” and interesting topics, magazines and a unique video feature this series is perfectly catered for the typical VHS English learner from A0 to B1.

2. Business English – From A1 up to C1!
Teaching Business English in today’s modern world requires both methodology and relevance. This workshop will focus on how one can merge both method and relevance in order to provide learners with realistic contextual tasks for learning and present authentic scenarios that relate to current business situations.

13:30 3. Your KEY to English: Let’s talk about it!

4. The Beginning and the End: The A to Z of a well-rounded lesson
* having a successful start to your lesson
* creating a clear routine
* student-orientated learning
* bring the lesson to a successful end
All these are important for creating a good learning experience for the students
This session will introduce 10 new ideas that are useful in any language classroom.
(As this session is suitable for all language classrooms the presentation will be in German)
